I’m Carol Ravagnani, and in 2024, my company, alice + rosa cake design, celebrates its 10th anniversary. A self-taught cake designer, I embarked on this journey out of necessity. When I began making cakes at home, online courses were non-existent, leaving only in-person programs, which were expensive and challenging to attend with a newborn baby!
Despite immersing myself in excellent recipe books and binge-watching the few available videos, I quickly realized that in baking, recipes serve as a starting point but often fall short of being the complete solution. Even with step-by-step guidance, my initial attempts at buttercream encountered issues with taste, consistency, and appearance.
What brought me to the perfect buttercream, the one gracing all my cakes for years, wasn’t solely the recipe itself but a combination of simple techniques I’ve learned and developed over time.
During my first forays into cake making, I longed for tips and insights from someone who had faced similar challenges. Such guidance would have saved a lot of time, money, and boosted my confidence. Now, I’m excited to offer you just that.
As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect time to improve, set goals, and evolve. Therefore, I invite you to come with me and accelerate your learning with Buttercream Basics.
